MUSIC: The Language of the Soul
Throughout the decades music has always been part of people’s daily activities and living. Some claimed it existed as early as the Stone Age period of human culture. However, most musicians would agree that music existed when man existed. The baby’s cry is already music, the sound of the leaves of the trees moved by the wind is also music and even simple human whistling is music.
Music has been called the language of the soul. Through music, people’s lives were transformed in many diverse ways no matter from what race and culture they may be from.
Different genres of music have a distinct impact to different collection of people. Some music may brighten people’s lives and become an inspiration as people would face the different challenges of life. However, there is also music that would bring pain to some people because that music is a remembrance of the dark memories of the past that a person may want to forget. However, whatever the feelings of the listener, music is the expression of the composer’s emotions, thoughts and experiences; may it be a positive experience or a negative one.
Music started with the natural sounds of nature – the whistling wind, the buzzing bees, and the baby’s cry. However, as human evolves, music also evolves; it’s a generated amalgam of sounds with a chemistry of human voice and instruments creating a melody, rhythm and symphony.
Humans learned to grasp and realize the value of music thus up to this contemporary period the art of music has continuously been evolving giving every human the kind of music that would pacify their individual standards.
Different music was categorized in different genres. These genres are created to aid listeners as to which song titles, singers and composers, they would listen to that would match their standards.
